Brandon Hill List
Brandon/Hill Lists are recommended as a selection guide for the small or medium-sized library. Through the years it has been used as a standard or bench-marking tool for hospital and medical school libraries. The minimal-core titles are selections a librarian would purchase if he or she could only acquire one or two books from each of the major subject categories. The first-purchase titles are items suggested because librarians cannot afford or may not even need all or most of the listed publications. The general titles are those titles which meet the criteria set up by Al Brandon and Dorothy Hill as having the substance required to be included in a hospital's or library collection.
