Brandon Hill Updates

J.A. Majors and YBP Library Services are pleased to receive Dorothy Hill's expressed permission to continue updating the new editions of titles listed in the last published issues of the Brandon/Hill Lists in Allied Health, Nursing, and Medicine. Dorothy is honored that librarians in the medical academic and hospital marketplace continue to find the Brandon/Hill Lists useful. You will find these titles updated each month on the Health Center site.

There has been some confusion surrounding the Brandon/Hill Lists in recent months. No one is "taking over" the Brandon/Hill Lists. "Doody's Core Titles in the Health Sciences" has found favor with many subscribers, but is not meant to be a continuance of the Brandon/Hill Lists.

Other useful collection development tools in the health sciences are Majors' "Nicki's Picks, New and Noteworthy Titles," and Majors' new "Small Gems Collection." Also, "E-STREAMS, Electronic Reviews of Science & Technology References covering Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine and Science," a collaborative venture between H. Robert Malinowsky of the University of Illinois at Chicago and YBP Library Services, includes reviews of medical materials by medical librarians and is established and respected as a collection development tool across many subject categories.

Working together as sister companies under the umbrella of Baker & Taylor, Majors and YBP will continue to supply current and timely information to medical and academic librarians in the months and years to come.
